We Liberals respect the principle of subsidiarity because it allows
self confident communities and regions. They then are in a competetion
for the best way. That’s why we should not regulate tourism with the
exception of environmental aspects.

say “no – this is a european issue. It falls for the subsidiarity
principle. Just because you are in the european you might not the best
solution across all european countries

there, go back to their countries an tell their nat. parliament that
changes of theri compromise are not possible. to avoid this we need to
strengthen the eu parliament and divide more clearly the comepetences

Regarding the enlargement the discussion in Germany is toomuch focussed
on economic reasons for the enlargement, because of course our economy
will profit fromit. Butwhat about theEuropean Spirit, about a long
common history,common understanding of human rights, the principles of
democracy and thepossibility for citizens too freely travel and move

anständigen sozialen Zweck dafür findest. Berufspolitiker finde ich
nämlich zum Kotzen. Aber EU gestalten ist irre, denn der Einfluß ist

Europa nur mit und nicht gegen das EP gestalten. Das ist zwar

Das SozialKapitelim Amsterdamer Vertrag wurde gegen unseren Widerstand
hereingebracht. Aber wenn wir nicht gegegehalten hätten, wären wir
jetzt auf dem Weg zu einerneuen Europäischen Megabürokratie

Lieber Lars: Der Amsterdamer Vertrag gilt ab dem 1. Mai und ist die
Fortentwicklung der Römischen Verträge, mit dem die EU begründet wurde.
Durch Amsterdam hat das EP ab Mai einen 50%igen Zuwachs an Kompetenz.
Zur Sozialplitik gibt es – zum Glück – dort nicht so viel, meines
Erachtens sollen das die Staaten selber regeln. Dafür enthalten die
Verträge Kohäsions-Klauseln.

Agenda 2000: too little reform, too few visions

Die Agenda 2000 wurde mit dem Beschluß des Gipfels von Berlin
hinweggefegt. Einewirkliche Neuordnung der Finanzen, die wir haben
wollten, hat es nichtgegeben.

Im Grundatz für die Agenda 2000, würden aber gerne noch darüber hinaus
gehen. Der Reform-Ansatz ist richtig und wichtig. Allerdings hat
Schörder den EU-Gipfel in Berlin versaut, so daß nicht sehr viele
Reformen umgesetzt werden. Im Gegenteil. Gut gebrüllt Löwe

Wir sind keine Idealisten, wir sind Realisten, die die Chancen der

die völlig normalen Grünen, die jetzt voll um Posten in Europa
herumschachern? Was ist an denen noch anders? Dann lieber eine liberale
Zukunft für die junge Generation!!

Der Kompromißim Agrarbereich ist so dünn, daß sogar Verheugen
(Staatsminister AA) schon zwei Tage später öffentlich verkündet hat,
daßnachgebessert werden muß. Und Nachbessern ist ja

Kohle in Bildung statt in Kohle. Man könnte die Kohäsions- und
Strukturfonds (wenn man schon Geld da hineinsteckt) voll auf Bildung
ausrichten. Sonst verlieren wir Europäer voll den Anschluß an die

it even better I think we should have common and high “green taxes” in

is even on the regional or municipal level. But common recommendations

programmes just benefit very few students, and provides a grant of
about 500 Euro per student. Freedom of choice concerning education is
most effective when the civil society can act without special rules

Parliamt has taken a strong stand in fighting corruption.But we need
more transparency andmore rights for the parliament to investigate
andcontrol the commission

My position is that we need to limit the bureaucracy, and one way to do this can be to have only five official languages.

limit the bureaucracy, so that we can deal with the real political

EU. And especially in the parliament, I would be afraid that those
coming from big countries would be prioritised. That is unacceptable.
Also when it comes to Eastern Europe, it is quite obvious that the
level of knowledge of English is quite low in all those states
